Framed Documents #261: Philby, Burgess And Maclean

This screengrab from Philby, Burgess And Maclean has lingered on my hard drive for a long time, so I am afraid I cannot remember who is supposed to be writing it (nor can I completely decipher the scrawl). If you can fill in the gaps please do get in touch, as I don’t fancy wading through the pile looking for it!

I am astonished that Burgess was once thought to be a genius. At forty he is drunken, dirty and dissolute, but sporadically brilliant.

ETA:

Thanks to Luther Blissett in the comments for identifying what mine eyes could not…
